Example formula: find the limit of ((x + h)² − x²) / h as h approaches 0. The middle step is 2x + h.

Why does only 2x remain?

Expanding the numerator gives 2xh + h². Dividing by h gives 2x + h. As h approaches 0, the result approaches 2x.

Keep your place

Your page and zoom level are saved automatically. Switch between single-page and two-page views, and use the outline to jump to a chapter.

02

Review your conversations

Conversations are saved with each book and linked to their source pages, so you can review an answer and return to the text.

03

Connect an AI service

Use Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, OpenAI, or a compatible vision model. You can read and organize your library before setting up AI.

04 / YOUR BOOKS, ON YOUR DEVICE

You choose when to share a page.

PDFs stay in their original locations. Your library and Q&A are stored on your device, and API keys are kept in macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager.

Opening a book does not connect to AI. Satori sends page images to your chosen service only when you ask a question, request an explanation, or confirm outline recognition. See the provider’s privacy policy for how it handles those images.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Do I need AI setup before reading?

No. You can open PDFs, read, and manage your library without AI. Configure an image-capable model service when you want to ask questions.

Does it support scanned PDFs?

Yes. You can read text-based, scanned, and mixed PDFs without AI. Recognizing a scanned table of contents requires a vision model; Satori shows which pages will be sent before you confirm.

Can I read on a phone or in a browser?

Satori is a desktop app for macOS 14+ on Apple silicon and Windows 11 on x64 or ARM64. This website contains preset demonstrations, not a browser client.

Are updates installed in the background?

No. Satori checks for updates at startup. You decide when to download and install them. Versions 3.4.3 and earlier need a one-time manual upgrade.
